Nih, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Bertenaga Listrik

DETROIT- Lebih dari setahun yang lalu, Mercedes-Benz secara resmi mengungkapkan rencana untuk membuat versi tenaga listrik dari supercar SLS AMG.

Kini, produsen mobil asal Jerman tersebut telah benar-benar membawa model prototipe mobil dalam bentuk nyata, yang disebut SLS AMG E-Sel, ke Detroit Auto Show 2011.

Prototipe tersebut terlihat mencolok dengan menggunakan cat kuning matte terang yang menyilaukan mata.

Para Insinyur Mercedes mengganti mesin standar V8 6.300 cc SLS AMG yang bertenaga 571HP dengan empat motor listrik yang ditempatkan di dekat roda sehingga menjadi model four-wheel drive.

Siapa bilang mobil listrik tidak bisa diajak ngebut, bukitnya dengan total empat buah motor listrik, SLS AMG E-Cell memiliki tenaga sebesar 525 tenaga kuda, dan torsi sebesar 880 Nm.

Dengan tenaga sebesar itu SLS AMG E-Sel mampu berlari dari 0 hingga kecepatan 100 km/jam hanya dalam waktu 3,7 detik saja.

Mercedes mengklaim bahwa mobil berpintu gullwing dengan penggerak listrik itu adalah bagian dari strategi perusahaan berjudul "AMG Performance 2015" yang bertujuan untuk terus mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar dan emisi.

Hebatnya, tenaga listrik yang tersimpan di baterai lithium-ion berkapasitas 400 volt tersebut juga dapat ditambah dengan melakukan pengereman.
Baterai tersebut diletakkan di firewall depan, dan dibelakang kursi, dalam rangka untuk menyeimbangkan distribusi berat kendaraan sehingga tetap stabil.

Namun produsen berlogo bintang tersebut tidak menjelaskan berapa lama waktu yang diperlukan untuk mengisi baterai mobil tersebut dengan tenaga listrik rumah tangga atau pun di stasiun pengisian. Juga kepastian kapan mobil tersebut akan diproduksi.

"Ketika Anda mengalami banyak imajinasi, tidak terlalu sulit untuk menggambarkan bagaimana supercar masa depan akan terlihat begitu menarik. Misalnya apa yang Anda pikirkan maka akan menjadi sebuah kenyataan yang memiliki kecepatan sama seperti pesawat terbang," sambungnya.

Bentuk sporty mengacu pada keberhasilan Mercedes dalam setiap mobil yang dikeluarakan serta di setiap balap mobil dan selalu berpikir revolusioner.

2011 Mercedes R class

Mercedes, one of the world's largest luxury car manufacturer have launched a new kind of Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) that offers space and comfort of an MPV coupled with refinement and driving dynamics of a saloon car. This new vehicle, named as Mercedes R class in India is going to be the only car in this segment and has ample opportunity to carve out a niche for itself.

This new Mercedes R class features a 3498cc V6 petrol engine that will provide a maximum power of about 272bhp at 6000rpm and a maximum torque of about 35.7Nm at 2400rpm. It does the 0-100 sprint in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 230kph. Nothing yet is decided about the diesel variant of Mercedes R class for the Indian market.

This new Mercedes R class, which is an all-wheel-drive automatic, comes with Mercedes' latest generation 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. It has the shift paddles placed on the steering wheel while a Direct Select lever is on the steering column. This new MPV, which can seat upto seven people has redone front grille, headlights, bonnet and wings in it.

Some of the notable features that this new Mercedes R class offers are bi-xenon headlamps, steel spring suspension in front and AIRmatic (Adaptive Intelligent Ride control) system featuring self-levelling air suspension in the rear. It also features a leather-covered tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control and a choice of high gloss wood trims, command system with an in-dash six-disc CD/DVD changer, eight-inch screens for the rear passengers, a DVD player and wireless headphones etc.

This new Mercedes R class in India, is expected to be priced around Rs 60 lakhs.

The new E-Class has gotten off to a very successful start, with more than 40,000 units delivered to customers since the market introduction in spring 2009. Mercedes-Benz expects sales of the new E-Class to receive a further boost in the coming months from the vehicle’s introduction in key markets including the U.S. and China and the launch of the new station wagon in fall 2009. The station wagon will celebrate its world premiere at this year's IAA in September. Dr. Klaus Maier, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars: “The fact that the E-Class sedan already became the global market leader in May demonstrates how well it is being received by our customers. The new coupe is also extremely popular, thanks to its dynamic design and the new generation of efficient engines. It's an exemplary embodiment of the brand’s basic attributes of safety, comfort, and quality. The new E-Class also sets the standards when it comes to economy in the upper-range segment.”

The new E-Class models have outstanding fuel economy. The sedan's four- and six-cylinder engines have direct injection systems and consume far less fuel than their predecessors despite their greater output. This month also marked the sales release of two new four-cylinder engines, which combine higher fuel efficiency with the level of driving comfort that is typical of Mercedes-Benz. The two new units round out the Mercedes-Benz engine range in the business class. The E 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 100 kW/136 hp consumes 5.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. And the new E 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY with direct injection delivers 135 kW/184 hp and consumes only 7.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. The model program of the sporty coupe also includes two new four-cylinder engines that require significantly less fuel while offering a clear increase of output and torque. The E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY coupe consumes just 5.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers while emitting only 135 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which makes it one of the most economical automobiles in its class.

The special characteristics of the new E-Class include not only a high level of environmental friendliness, but also a unique combination of driver assistance systems. Approximately a dozen different assistance systems are available to customers, including new Mercedes-Benz developments such as Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, and Night View Assist. These technologies make the E-Class a “thinking” partner that can not only see, feel, and respond to dangers by means of its “reflexes,” but also act independently to prevent accidents or minimize their effects.

The new E-Class is the successor of an internationally successful Mercedes-Benz model. About 1.5 million sedans and station wagons of that predecessor model, the 211 series, have been delivered to customers since its market launch six years ago. Over the past 60 years, the eight generations of the E-Class sedan have thrilled ten million customers worldwide, making it the most successful business sedan in the world.
